The brief
Vidnova Ukrainy («Віднова України», Restoration of Ukraine) presented itself as a charitable organisation that restores and builds social infrastructure in Ukraine's regions. Its website stated the goal in a few words: to make Ukraine a better place to live. It also named the principles behind the work: effectiveness, a scientific approach, comprehensiveness, optimality, consistency and expediency.
The foundation's projects ranged widely. Some served the front, such as vehicles for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Others were construction programmes with a long horizon: modular kindergartens, schools and universities, modular vertical farms, and medical and rehabilitation facilities. The site gave an address in Uzhhorod, Zakarpattia region, a toll-free phone line and links to the foundation's Facebook and Instagram profiles. Its team block named Yuliia Kinal as founder and Volodymyr Kinal and Dmytro Didenko as project leads.
With a portfolio this varied, a donor usually wants to pick one project, understand it and act on it. The site met that need with a separate page for every project and two clear routes for help: money or goods.
What we did
Marketing MIX built the foundation's website at vidnovaua.org on MODX. The site footer carried the line "Development and support" with the MMIX logo linking to mmix.ua. Our project archive holds a screenshot of the English projects page taken on 17 May 2023. The details below follow the Internet Archive capture of 3 April 2024.
Eight projects, each on its own page
The projects section listed eight directions, and every project page carried a Support button:
- vehicles for the Armed Forces of Ukraine;
- protective stops with infrastructure;
- modular shelters for pets;
- medical and rehabilitation facilities;
- modular kindergartens, schools and universities;
- modular vertical farms;
- high-tech modular construction;
- «Світло з Україною» (Light with Ukraine).
Two ways to help
The Support menu split giving into two pages: monetary aid and non-monetary aid. A company that wants to donate materials or equipment and a person who wants to transfer money each find their own route.
Two languages, team and news
The site ran in Ukrainian and English. Next to the team block, the news section recorded completed deliveries: on 4 February 2023 a Ford Ranger was handed to the 67th Separate Rifle Battalion, on 26 July 2023 the foundation reported another vehicle for the military, and on 26 August 2023 a Nissan Terrano went to Ukrainian soldiers. The contacts section gathered the Uzhhorod address, phone lines and social profiles.
Where it stands today
The Internet Archive capture of 3 April 2024 shows the complete site: both languages, the eight projects, the team, news from February to August 2023, a © 2024 footer and the Marketing MIX "Development and support" credit.
By 16 July 2025 the domain served only a page reading "Loading..." with a JavaScript redirect and no foundation content. On 14 September 2026 vidnovaua.org is no longer registered: the .org registry has no record of it, and it has no DNS records.
The foundation's Facebook page, «Благодійний фонд «Віднова України»», with a Kyiv location, still exists; we could not retrieve the dates of its recent posts. A search of the Ukrainian registries by name on opendatabot and YouControl found no record under this name.
What we would add now
Reconstruction charities compete for institutional and diaspora money. Before they give, funders usually look for three things: a clear legal identity, costed project sheets and evidence of completed deliveries. The vehicle news on the site covered the third. Our 2026 recommendations cover the rest.
Keep the address alive
When a foundation's domain lapses, its donors, partners and Facebook followers who click through land on nothing. Auto-renewal on an account the organisation controls prevents this. If the full site is retired, a one-page fallback with the contacts and donation details keeps old links useful. See Corporate website development.
Costed projects with visible progress
Eight construction and supply projects each had a Support button, and none showed a budget, a status or progress. Each project page would benefit from its status, the amount raised against the amount needed and dated photo reports. The archived reviews block held generic quotes, and one of them appears word for word on another foundation's site. Real, attributed feedback from recipients belongs in that place.
Legal identity up front
The archived homepage showed neither a registry code nor a charter. Grant-makers check legal status first, so a registry extract, the statute and Organization structured data with the foundation's name, code, address and area served should be one click away. Structured data also gives AI assistants verifiable facts to quote. See AI SEO agency in Ottawa: LLM SEO for ChatGPT and Gemini.
A name search engines can tell apart
The name collides with ВідНОВА:UA, a youth programme of Ukraine's Ministry of Youth and Sports with UNDP at vidnova.org.ua. Distinct page titles, Organization markup and one consistent name across the site and social profiles would help search engines keep the two apart. Testimonial
Dmytro Didenko, named on the foundation's site as one of its project leads, left this feedback.
A very responsible company. They did everything on time and took all our wishes into account. We will work with them again. Thank you for a great website!
