Who we are

Marketing MIX operates this website and decides how information submitted here is used. Our address is 208 Booth Street, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, and our contact details are at the end of this page.

Information we collect

When you submit a request, we collect the contact details, website, project context, consent record, source page, and campaign parameters you choose to provide. A bug report sent from the experiments shelf also carries the page it was written on, your window size, how far down the page you were, and the spot you pointed at. Basic server security logs may include an IP address, browser information, and request time. Providing this information is voluntary, and contact details are what allow us to answer you.

Why we use it, and on what legal basis

We review and answer your request on the basis of your consent and of the steps taken at your request before entering into a contract. We keep security logs and prevent abuse on the basis of our legitimate interest in running a safe website. Where a law requires us to keep a business record, that legal obligation is the basis. We sell no submitted contact information, and we make no automated decisions about you.

How long we keep it

Each request you submit is stored in our inquiry system and deleted automatically 180 days after we receive it. Email correspondence and business records that a law requires us to keep are held separately, for as long as that purpose lasts.

Who else processes it

Providers of hosting and network security (Cloudflare), email, and lead delivery process limited data on our behalf and under our instructions.

Where it is processed

We work from Canada, and our hosting and security network operates worldwide, so information you submit is processed in Canada and may be handled on servers outside your own country.

Your rights

You may ask for access to the information we hold about you, ask us to correct or erase it, ask us to restrict or object to how we use it, ask for a copy in a portable format, and withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawal takes effect when you tell us and leaves earlier processing lawful. Write to us and we will answer.

Complaints

You may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. If you are in the European Union, the European Economic Area, or the United Kingdom, you may also complain to your national data protection authority.

Changes to this policy

We update this page when our processing changes, and the review date above tells you which version you are reading.

Optional analytics and cookies

Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 load only after you choose “Allow analytics”. Before that choice, and after you choose “Keep off”, no request is sent to those services. If enabled, they receive page URL, referrer, device and browser information, and site events such as page views and a successful form submission; we do not send the form fields or contact details to analytics. Google Analytics uses first-party _ga cookies, which may last up to two years by default, and our GA4 property keeps user- and event-level data for 14 months. Your choice is stored in this browser as mmix_analytics_consent_v1. Use “Analytics preferences” in the footer to change it; withdrawing consent removes accessible _ga cookies and reloads the page without analytics.

Meta Pixel on campaign pages

Our advertising quiz for moving companies (/movers-vancouver/) can use the Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms, Inc.) to measure and improve our Facebook and Instagram ads. It loads when the page opens; the 🍪 button on that page lets you switch it off, after which nothing is sent to Meta and no Meta cookie is set. While it is on, Meta receives the page address, device and browser information, your answers to the quiz questions (service area, type of moves, wanted volume, ad budget) and the fact that a request was sent; Meta sets the first-party cookies _fbp and _fbc, which last up to 90 days. When you send the quiz form while the pixel is on, our server also reports that request to Meta through the Conversions API with the same event ID, so it is counted once: your email address, phone number and first name are sent only as SHA-256 hashes, together with your IP address, browser user agent and the _fbp/_fbc values. Meta processes this data under its own policy (facebook.com/privacy/policy) and may process it outside Canada. Your choice is stored in this browser as mmix_marketing_consent_v1; switching the pixel off deletes the accessible _fbp/_fbc cookies.

What the experiments shelf keeps in your browser

The experiments shelf at /experiments/ stores your work on the device you are reading it on: mmix_experiments_verdicts_v1 (which pages you marked), mmix_experiments_reports_v1 (the full text of every report you wrote, its kind and its delivery state), mmix_experiments_reporter_v1 (the name and email you gave with your first report), mmix_experiments_drafts_v1 and mmix_experiments_verdict_draft_v1 (text you have typed and not sent), mmix_experiments_shot_v1 (desktop or phone screenshots) and mmix_experiments_lang (the language the report button speaks). None of it leaves the device on its own; a report leaves only when you send it, and clearing this site's data removes all of it. The inbox on that page deletes a single report, and the button beside it removes the stored name and email. A report you send also carries the page it was written on, your window size, how far down the page you were, the device pixel ratio and — if you pointed at a spot — a short path to that element with up to 48 characters of its text.

YouTube API Services and our videos

Marketing MIX uses YouTube API Services. An internal tool of ours uses them to publish and manage videos on our own YouTube channels: @stepanenkom, @innovaua, @maxtaxca, @maxrelaxca and @maxhacksca. By using this tool, its user agrees to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service (https://www.youtube.com/t/terms). Google processes data under the Google Privacy Policy (https://www.google.com/policies/privacy).

Only the owner of these channels signs in to the tool, with his Google account. The tool uploads our videos, captions and thumbnails, edits titles, descriptions, translations and playlists of our videos, changes settings of our channels, and reads statistics and YouTube Analytics reports of our own channels. It collects no information about visitors of this website or about other YouTube users.

The tool keeps its sign-in tokens on one company computer, readable only by the account that runs the tool. Working copies of information about our own videos received from YouTube, such as view counts and publishing status, are kept on the same computer with access limited to company accounts, and a scheduled job refreshes them at least every 30 days. Titles and descriptions we wrote ourselves are kept as the history of our edits.

Case pages on this website that show one of our videos use the YouTube embedded player in privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). The player is content served by YouTube, a third party, and may include YouTube ads. It loads from YouTube when the page opens, so YouTube receives the technical data every browser sends, such as your IP address, browser information and the address of our website. In privacy-enhanced mode YouTube does not use the view to personalise your YouTube experience or advertising outside this website; the player may still store or read information in your browser, such as cookies or local storage, under the Google Privacy Policy.

In addition to our normal procedure for deleting stored data, the channel owner can revoke the tool's access at any time on the Google security settings page (https://security.google.com/settings/security/permissions). To ask about this data or to have it deleted, write to info@mmix.biz; we delete it within 7 days of the request.
