01Website rescue · Canada

Stop rentingyour website.

We rebuild old WordPress, Joomla and PHP sites, and sites on a Wix, Squarespace or Shopify plan, as a fast static site you own. Same content, same addresses, a 301 for every page that moves, nothing left to hack and no monthly platform fee.

PageSpeed and load time: our own site mmix.ca before and after the same move
02Why move

Three thingsan old site costs you

  • CA$600–1,200

    a year in builder plans

A CA$50–100 a month plan for as long as the site lives. After the move the site is a set of files you own, and hosting a typical small-business site costs near CA$0.

  • 4.5 s → 1.4 s

until the main content shows on a phone

Our own site mmix.ca before and after the same move, Google PageSpeed mobile. A slow first screen is where visitors from ads and search leave before they see the offer.

  • 0 PHP

    files on the public server

No plugins, no database and no admin login for bots to try every night. The usual ways into an old WordPress or Joomla site are gone.

  • Monthly platform fee

Old site: Wix, Squarespace or Shopify plan, every month, for as long as the site lives

After the rescue: None. The site is a set of files you own

  • Hosting

Old site: Bundled into the plan, or a PHP hosting account with its own bill

After the rescue: Static hosting on a global CDN, free tier for a typical small-business site

  • Attack surface

Old site: PHP, a database, plugins and an admin login that bots try every night

After the rescue: No PHP, no database, no admin panel on the public server

  • Speed on a phone

Old site: Page builder scripts, sliders and plugins load before your content

After the rescue: Pages are built ahead of time and served from the nearest edge

  • Addresses in Google

Old site: Every old address has search history behind it

After the rescue: Same content, same addresses, a redirect for every page that moved

  • Updates

Old site: Core, theme and plugin updates that can break the site

After the rescue: Nothing to update on the server. Changes go through us

06Security

Three doorswe close

WordPress and Joomla break-ins usually come through one of three doors.

A static site is a folder of finished pages. There is no code running on the server for a visitor to trick, no database to dump and no login page to guess.

  1. 01

    An old plugin

A plugin nobody updated since the site was built. Static pages carry no plugins.

  2. 02

    Outdated PHP

The server language itself, years behind on security fixes. Static pages run no PHP.

  3. 03

    A guessable admin login

Bots try /wp-admin and /administrator around the clock. Static pages have no login.

07How the move goes

Your part:two messages

You send the address and say yes to the quote. We do the rebuild, the redirects and the switch, and your current site keeps working the whole time. No meetings and no logins to hand over before the quote.

  1. 01You

    Send the address

One field in the form above. A person looks at the platform, the pages that bring visitors in Search Console, the forms and what you pay every month.

  2. 02You

Say yes to a fixed quote

The written check comes first, before any payment: what moves, what changes, CA$500 or CA$1,000 + HST. Online stores with a cart and payments are quoted separately.

  3. 03We

    Rebuild on a staging copy

Your current site keeps working. We carry over the texts, photos and structure, and map every old address to its new page.

  4. 04We

    Switch the domain

The domain points to the new site, redirects go live, forms and phone links are tested. Your email stays where it is.

  5. 05You

    Cancel the old plan

When the new site has run for a couple of weeks and Search Console looks clean, you cancel the subscription or the PHP hosting.

09Questions
  • Will I lose my Google rankings?

Rankings drop when addresses change without redirects or when pages that brought traffic disappear. Before the switch we export every address with impressions from Search Console and your sitemap, and each one either stays the same or gets a 301 to its new page. We check the map again after launch.

  • Can I still change texts and photos?

Yes. Send the change and we make it. If you edit the site yourself every week, say so in the check: we will propose a setup for that before quoting.

  • My site is a Shopify store. Does this work?

Catalogs, menus and booking pages move well. A store that takes payments needs a cart and checkout of its own; we quote that separately after the check, and sometimes keeping Shopify is the cheaper answer. You will hear that from us too.

  • What happens to my domain and email?

They stay in your name and with your current provider. We only change where the domain sends website visitors.

  • My WordPress was hacked. Can you clean it first?

Yes. A hacked site is first cleaned and its accounts secured, then moved. The static copy carries no PHP, so the usual way back in is gone.
