Travel marketing, in one paragraph

Travel marketing is the system that turns a search for a trip into a booking request with your company. It joins tour and destination pages that state their facts in plain text, structured data that matches them, visibility in Google, Maps and AI assistants, paid campaigns timed to the booking window, and email to past travellers, and it measures every channel by booking requests and revenue.

Marketing MIX is an international marketing studio, founded in Kyiv in 2014 and headquartered at 208 Booth Street, Ottawa, since 2024. We work with tour operators, travel agencies, destination companies and event organisers in English, French, German, Ukrainian and Russian. Hotels and B&Bs have their own page: hotel marketing agency.

How travellers choose a tour in 2026

A traveller usually meets a tour in three places: Google search and its AI Overviews, an online travel agency or marketplace, and an AI assistant asked for a shortlist. Before booking they check the operator's own site for four answers:

  • What exactly is included? Route, days, transport, meals, group size, what is extra.
  • When can I go and what does it cost? Dates and a price, or at least a clear "from" price and how it changes by season.
  • Is this company real? Recent reviews, photos from the actual trips, a licence or registration where the market requires it, an address and a phone.
  • Can I book or ask now? A request form or booking button on a phone, answered the same day.

A site that answers these on each tour page wins the comparison. A site with one page for all tours loses it to the OTA listing.

What we do for tour operators

Tour and destination pages that rank

One page per tour and per destination, each with its own facts in text: route, duration, dates, inclusions, price, meeting point and photos from the trip. We add schema.org markup that repeats those facts and build internal links between tours, destinations and seasons. The detailed method is in our SEO playbook for tour operators.

Visibility in AI search

We record what ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews answer to the trip questions your customers ask, which sources they cite, and where your company is missing. Then we fix the facts on your pages and profiles they quote. More: promotion in AI search and LLM systems.

Google and Meta ads for the booking window

Campaigns start before the booking window for each season and stop when the dates sell out. Search ads cover your brand and "tour + destination" queries; Meta, YouTube and TikTok show the trip itself to people who travel that way. Each campaign reports booking requests next to the spend. Related: targeted ads and TikTok ads.

Booking requests answered the same day

A request form that works on a phone, an instant confirmation in the traveller's language, and routing to the right manager by tour and language. Unanswered requests trigger a reminder. More: marketing automation pipelines.

Reviews and repeat travellers

Review requests after each trip, answers on Google and the platforms, and a short email sequence to past travellers before the next season, with consent recorded under Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) for Canadian lists.

Work in tourism and events

We built the mobile visitor guide for Ukrainian Fest Lanark County, a cultural festival in Carleton Place, Ontario: stage programme, site map, food, kids' activities and sponsors on one page for phones. Read the case. Other consumer brands in our case library show the same mix of website, local search and ads.

What we measure

Metric Why it matters
Booking requests by tour and source Shows which tours and channels pay
Clicks for "tour + destination" queries, same weeks last year Separates growth from season
Impressions in AI features and multimodal search Demand from AI Overviews and Google Lens
Mentions and cited pages in AI assistants Whether assistants recommend you
Cost per booking request in ads Where the budget goes next season

Pricing

Start with a 30-minute marketing strategy session for €100: we look at your tour pages, the booking path on a phone and your presence in Google and AI assistants, and agree on the next step. Everything after that is quoted in writing for your scope. How it works: Pricing.

The next step

Send us your website, the markets you sell to and the three tours you most want to fill next season. In the strategy session you get a written read on those tour pages and the gap against the operators that rank above you.
