The brief

Karolina Serhiivna Mezhenska is a private notary in Kyiv. The biography on her website set out her background: a graduate of the Yaroslav Mudryi National Law Academy of Ukraine, from January 1998 head of the notary department of a regional justice administration, and in private notarial practice since February 2005.

After years in practice she decided to take the office online, and asked Marketing MIX for a respectable website that matched her experience. Notary clients search by service and location and often need an appointment quickly. The site therefore had to put the full range of services, prices and ways to get in touch up front, and build trust through her years in the profession.

What we did

Design

A script logotype reading "Каролина Меженская / частный нотариус" with a quill on a burgundy panel. A black top bar gave the key facts at a glance: consultations 24/7, on-site notary services, the office address and contacts. The main menu covered Home, About me, Partners, News, Price and Contacts. A second menu listed the services: certification of statements, contracts and powers of attorney, wills and inheritance, signature certification, and other services.

Pages

  • Home, with an appointment form, the headline "All types of notarial services and consultations from a notary in Kyiv", and counters for years of legal experience and 24/7 availability.
  • Service pages, each with a price box.
  • About me, with a "Regalia" block showing her diplomas.
  • News in a grid, a Partners page, and Contacts with a map and a feedback form.

The site ran on MODX.

Search and advertising

  • A semantic core covering the widest possible range of search queries.
  • Content and meta tags optimised for that core.
  • A block for new services and special offers.
  • Link building and contextual advertising.

The case page lists the team: a designer, two SEO specialists, a junior PHP developer and an assistant internet marketer who also managed content.

Where it stands today

The Web Archive traces the site over ten years:

  • 2 June 2015. The earliest capture shows the site exactly as in our mockups, with the counter "17 years of legal experience". The launch therefore happened by mid-2015 at the latest.
  • May 2017. The office has moved, the counter reads 20 years, and the footer carries the "Development and support" credit linking to mmix.biz.
  • January 2019. Another office address; the credit is still in place.
  • August 2020. Same design and structure, now on HTTPS and in Ukrainian by default with a Russian switch. The credit is no longer in the footer.
  • March 2022. Same design; the page now carries FAQPage structured data.
  • June 2023. A further office address.
  • February 2025. Same design with a new page title, "Private notary in the centre of Kyiv".
  • July 2025. The domain shows a parking page.

On 14 September 2026 the former domain serves an unrelated online-gambling page, which is why this case does not link to it. Kyiv notary directories still list Karolina Mezhenska as a private notary of the Kyiv city notary district, with conflicting addresses. A search in September 2026 found no new website for her practice.

What we would add now

The design we built served the practice for almost ten years, through several office moves. Two problems surfaced later that are common for long-running professional sites: a lapsed domain and inconsistent addresses.

Domain and name protection

When a domain lapses, the owner loses more than a website: the notary's name in old search results now leads to gambling content. Renewal monitoring and domain records held under the client's own control prevent this.

One source of truth for the address

The office changed address at least three times between 2015 and 2023, and directories still disagree. A website, a Google Business Profile and Notary or LocalBusiness structured data that all carry the same details would give search engines and maps a single answer. Service pages written for AI answers

The FAQPage markup added by 2022 pointed in the right direction. Pages per service with the price, the term and the documents to bring, plus FAQ content, give AI assistants specific answers to quote. See LLM SEO from Ottawa: ChatGPT, Perplexity.

Booking, reviews and language

Online appointment booking, a routine for collecting reviews, and Ukrainian as the main language with hreflang links to the other versions.

Testimonial

Great work, team. I like how it turned out. At first I wasn't sure myself what the site should look like or how it should work, but later we found the right solution together. I want to give special credit to the SEO team: after their "magic", I have twice as many clients.
